Two of Nashville’s finest songwriters will be performing at Cafe Murmullo January 11 and 13.
Both Angela Kaset and Don Henry wrote songs professionally in Nashville for over 40 years.
Angela is now retired and living in San Miguel de Allende. Her music is best defined is as Adult Contemporary, but she also delves into pop, alternative, blues, jazz, and even a touch of country. She is best known for her career defining song, “Something in Red”. In 1997 she was the SESAC writer of the year with three songs simultaneously on the country charts. With a soulful and expressive voice, she showcases the vast experience gained performing on stages across the globe.
Don Henry is still living and songwriting professionally in Nashville. The wit and wisdom of Don’s songs are widely renowned like the hilarious “B.F.D.” and biker lullaby “Harley”, or the wonderfully poignant tribute to Martin Luther King “Beautiful Fool”, and of course his Grammy Award winning country classic “Where’ve You Been”. In addition to a Grammy, Kathy Mattea’s version of “Where’ve You Been” won Don song of the year honors from ACM, CMA and NSAI. It was the first song in country music history to be awarded all four honors in the same year! Don is still a touring musician playing venues worldwide wide and has often toured to Tom Paxton.
This is a rare opportunity to hear these two regulars of the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville. Angela played the Bluebird three weeks ago and the tickets were sold out within half an hour of their release.
