Biography:Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, award-winning actor, singer, composer, musician and writer Jesse Moore has performed on concert and theatrical stages throughout the world. He began his career at the tender age of 12, winning the talent contest at the Apollo Theater. Viewers will recognize his face from numerous portrayals of characters from doctors to lawyers to a homeless vet to a South African teacher in a myriad of TV, theater and film productions. He studied acting at the prestigious American Conservatory Theater (ACT) in San Francisco, the Los Angeles Civic Lite Opera Musical Theater Workshop, and with Stella Adler.
At age 15, Jesse auditioned for Motown Records. Smoky Robinson, Marvin Gaye, and Eddie Kendricks (Temptations) were present. He has commercially recorded and released several CDs of original music. Two of them were voted to the “Top Ten CDs of the Year” by New Orleans music critics. His music has been heard on HBO’s Treme Series.
In 1988, Jesse shared a Toni Award for “Excellence in Regional Theater” with the San Francisco Mime Troupe.
Jesse has lived for long periods of time in Tokyo, Bangkok, Singapore, Malaysia, Bali, New Orleans, Boston, New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco. He now lives in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico where he is writing his memoir.
