“Nunca Nada Aconteceu” is a Portuguese drama about miscommunication, about no being able to fully comprehend those who are close to us simply because we lack the knowledge to fully immerse ourselves in what is their experiences. The atmosphere is very fresh and liberated, much like French and Italin coming-of-age films. Some thinga are very specific to the Portuguese people, like problematic wildfires and school systemic issues, but Nunca Nada Aconteceu is a good example of doing something different.
