Interdisciplinary show of flamenco, poetry and theatre that brings us closer to the great Andalusian poet, Federico García Lorca.
Bringing Lorca to the stage is like getting to the very roots of flamenco, that essence that was born in Granada and spreads to touch the entire world with its magic. With the help of the stagecraft of Franco Méndez and Berenice González, we immerse ourselves in the universe of the poet of the moon, love, death, envy, jealousy, pride, and the passions that inhabit us.
Lorca is poetry, flamenco is a challenge to the senses, an exquisite collage of dance, music, poetry and theatre. The spectator will enjoy different Spanish scenes from fragments of Yerma, Bodas de sangre, La casa de Bernarda Alba, interspersed with his most brilliant poems. Dance, song and guitar complete this artistic channel because flamenco and Lorca are made of the same blood, they carry in their veins that passion that can only be understood with the heart, with the roots of the spirit.
Lorca is poetry, flamenco is an unlimited commitment to what burns within us, and is, at the same time, a tribute to the great poet who crossed the limits, named the forbidden and gave his own life in exchange for his freedom. For this reason, today, we want to invite the public of San Miguel de Allende to remember him, to enjoy, to revel in his art with us.
