Biography:Mauro Ledesma was born in the city of San Miguel de Allende. From an early age he began his piano studies at the El Nigromante Cultural Center with the renowned pianist and composer Marta García Renart.
In 2001 he was accepted to the University of Colima’s Piano Degree, where he was taught by Dr. Gleb Dobrushkin and the renowned composer, pianist and conductor Anatoly Zatin. In this institution he participated in several concerts of “Academic Excellence” and obtained various awards from cultural institutions and the State Government.
He has taken master classes with Vladimir Viardo, Wou Han, Enrique Graf, Valery Koslov, Jazminka Stankul, Pierre Reach, among others.
Several of his concerts have been broadcast live for radio and television.
He wrote the music and directed the musical “Apples, Oranges, Beans and peas”
He made a successful tour in the United States throughout the New England area, where he appeared as a soloist in various concert halls and participated in various music festivals, including “Arts on the Green”
In 2013 he was appointed director of the San Miguel de Allende Opera Choir, which under his command has staged operas such as La Traviata, Il Trovatore, Ballo in Maschera and recently Don Giovanni, obtaining very favorable comments from national critics.
In 2015, the University Institute of Fine Arts of the University of Colima invited him as a speaker at the First Alumni Meeting to share his experiences with the students of the music faculty.
In 2017, together with the soprano Morganna Love, he received the invitation through the Mexican embassy in Canada to perform in that country to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the founding of Canada, performing three concerts in the main concert halls.
Since 2019, he has been Co-director of the AC Chorale San Miguel, through which he directs and produces concerts with the most important orchestras in Mexico and with international soloists. The Association’s productions include Handel’s Messiah, Mozart’s Requiem and various chamber music programs.
In addition to working as a piano and music theory teacher, he collaborates as a pianist with various institutions such as Ópera San Miguel, Pro Música AC and the International Chamber Music Festival.
