Biography

Musician originally from Mexico City and based in San Miguel since 2000. Percussionist, drummer, Victor has participated in very diverse musical projects of all kinds; of jazz music, flamenco, blues, Latin music, and more, with the best musicians in each field.

Victor is part of the cultural life of San Miguel de Allende, and presides the San Miguel de Allende World Music Festival, the San Miguel de Allende World Music Orchestra, and the SMA Jazz Alliance. He is also regularly playing in different projects such as Son del Monte, Jaime Valle Quartet and Medina Laqant, among others.

Victor Monterrubio is currently involved in many projects with internationally renowned musicians, spanning a very wide range of genres and formats, from trios to ensembles of more than 10 musicians. He is the director of the SMA World Music Festival and performs at most venues where live music is presented in the city of San Miguel.
