Informations supplémentaires

Starting from the certainty that dance—and art in general—is for everyone, and that each person has and finds their own dance, my favorite performances are those in which we can all truly be present in the present. I am deeply moved by spaces where listening, sensitivity, and availability are more important than the stage, technique, or formality of the event. That's why I enjoy equally a performance in a theater, a community gathering, an artistic residency, or an exploration work in an open space. The essential thing is the possibility of creating a connection, generating meaning, and activating shared body memories.

My usual workspaces have been very diverse: rural and urban communities, theaters, universities, festivals, cultural centers, and unconventional spaces in different countries in America and Europe. In this international journey, even the intimate dialogue with other dances—such as tango, which has allowed me to understand new forms of embrace, musicality, and presence—has enriched my view of traditional Colombian dance and the contemporary methodologies with which I research and create.

Tips to boost contracts, collaborations, and my artistic career:

Cultivate living networks: it has been key to maintain close relationships with artists, institutions, and communities I have already worked with, as well as to open new alliances with projects that resonate with my research and my poetics.

Show processes in addition to results: sharing my work not only through performances, but also through workshops, lectures, publications, and residencies, allows different audiences and institutions to approach my proposal from different perspectives.

Maintain consistency between creation, pedagogy, and research: my profile as a researcher, teacher, and dancer specialized in traditional Colombian dance is strengthened when these three axes dialogue; this approach has interested universities, festivals, cultural centers, and international platforms.

Make the artistic mission visible: both in "Remembranzas Danza" and in the "Cumbre Iluminada" Foundation, we work to ensure that traditional dance remains relevant, reinterpreted, and accessible. Clearly communicating this purpose drives collaborations with cultural, educational, and community organizations.

Update digital presence: maintaining a clear portfolio, high-quality videos, curatorial dossier, and authentic narrative on social media helps potential programmers and collaborators understand the depth and scope of my work.

In short, my career is fueled by the conviction that dance is a shared territory. When there is presence, listening, and meaning—whether in a fandango, a bambuco, or even in the rhythmic embrace of tango—any place can become a lively stage and any encounter can open up a deep and lasting collaboration.
