Teacher in the Rye: Saving Public Schools from Threats from the Right and the Impact of AI. By Frank Thoms
Thursday July 9 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Event Description
An interactive talk based on Frank Thoms’s new memoir, his teaching life.
In all seven of his books, he writes to encourage teachers to take ownership of their classrooms. In “Teacher in the Rye,” he also urges the public to support classroom teachers, because public schools have been the backbone of America and must continue to be.
Frank Thoms taught for forty years in the US Northeast, mostly middle school; also primary children in Oxfordshire, England; and English to students from seven to seventeen in four Soviet schools in three cities in the former Soviet Union.
For his last twelve years, he served as teacher of teachers providing professional development through courses, consults, and keynotes for public and private schools throughout New England.
He has published seven books, “Teacher in the Rye” being his most recent.
