The Instituto Allende Casa Museo occupies an 18th century viceregal mansion in the Historic Center of San Miguel de Allende, just four blocks from the main Parish church. Originally built by Manuel Tomás de la Canal and María de Hervás, the building preserves much of its original architecture.
Its mission is to promote and spread art, culture, and the Spanish language to locals and foreigners alike. Today, it operates as a living house-museum: a space for encounter and dialogue that connects history, art, and the community, positioning itself as the most important cultural and heritage forum in the city.
