Biography

Alexander (Ale!) moved to San Miguel de Allende from Washington State at age 9. By 12 he was performing fire dancing with a circus troupe in the Jardín, and at 16 he set out through Central America with his first banjo, combining circus arts and music. At 22 he began focusing exclusively on music, fronting projects and touring internationally. Today he performs in multiple San Miguel venues with groups including Los Hot Tamales, Refugio Sur, and Refugio Swing Quartet. His repertoire spans Traditional Jazz from the 1920s–1940s, Swing, Ragtime, and expands into modern styles such as Lo‑Fi, Electro Cumbia, Reggaeton, and Electronica. He plays banjolele and guitar, sings, composes, and produces.
