Michael Handler, aka Harmonica Mike, has lived his life in music. From high school and college bands, guitar lessons with Jerry Garcia during his Warlocks stage, to becoming a leading harmonica player in San Francisco, CA, and Santa Fe, NM.
He has brought soulful and inspired playing to all his bands, 'live' shows and recordings. His over 50 years as a jazz and blues DJ - with some rock stations along the way - greatly inspired him.
Michael was a journalist for the respected DownBeat jazz magazine, and was a voting member of the International Critics Poll. Harmonica Mike recently moved to San Miguel de Allende to continue to pursue his musical passion and enjoy retirement in Mexico.
