VoiceLab

Workshop 01 of the Encuentro Internacional de Acciones Experimentales y Artes Sonoras (h)3ar~, International Encounter of Experimental Actions and Sound Arts). Led by Ute Wassermann, this limited-capacity workshop is for women and gender dissidents ages 18 to 90. Participants will explore the voice as an incredibly versatile and flexible sonic instrument through breathing, resonance, and articulation exercises. Through vocal warmups, attendees will be introduced to a wide variety of experimental vocal techniques and discover new forms of vocal expression through collective singing, attentive listening, concepts, free improvisation, solos, duos, trios, and choruses. The workshop focuses on wordless singing and pure vocal sound: human, animal, technoid, and earthly. Recovery cost is $380 MXN and capacity is limited to 14 participants. Presented in San Miguel de Allende as part of h)3ar~.
