**CITY NOTES: capture the moment before it slips away**

 

Why urban sketch?

Because the city doesn’t pose. It moves, the light changes, the tamale man walks away. The sketch is your chance to catch it all: fast, direct, and with your style.

 

Watercolor and sketching are the perfect match. You capture quickly, you keep what’s essential, and if you want, later you turn it into something amazing. But watch out: a simple note by itself is already art. Well done is worth a lot.

 

What are you going to do in the workshop?

1️⃣ Bring your vision to life – You don’t draw what’s there; you draw what you see. Your gaze, your filter, your story.

2️⃣ Capture scenes before they disappear – Train your eye and hand to synthesize in minutes.

3️⃣ Street tips – We’ll review the basics of urban landscape, and I’ll show you what to scratch with: pens, watercolor, pencils—whatever you carry in your backpack.

4️⃣ Let’s get drawing—no pure theory. We’ll go out to make real notes, live, with Tere giving you feedback.

**Profile of Tere Lojero**

*Tere Lojero was born in Mexico City and studied architecture at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. Since 1998, following the footsteps of watercolor, she has devoted herself completely to this practice. She has taken part in multiple group shows, both national and international, and has presented more than 30 solo exhibitions in various galleries, museums, and institutions in Mexico and abroad.*

*Lojero is in love with landscapes—the theme that allows her to share her vision of the world and give voice to her brushes. Capturing scenes from everyday life has become her main goal: to share her soul with the viewer.*

*She has been awarded on several occasions both nationally and internationally. She has been the leader of the International Watercolor Society México (IWS México) since July 2017, and starting in December 2019 she became Vice President of the IWS Global. In April 2024 she became Vice President of the Sociedad Mexicana de Acuarelistas (SMA), and starting in April 2026 she becomes President of the SMA. She has served as a juror in various painting contests in Mexico and abroad, and as a curator and promoter of watercolor she has organized contests, Pleinair outings, festivals, and exhibitions—both national and international. She also currently teaches in-person and online workshops for various watercolor organizations, collectives, galleries, and museums in different parts of the world.*
