SPARK | Memorias Fragmentadas: Music, Bilingual Open Mic & Readings in Spanish with live translation to English

Gather at Smokey Joe’s for a special bilingual open mic, where voices in English and Spanish intertwine in a celebration of expression and community. The evening continues with Memorias Fragmentadas, featuring some of San Miguel’s most captivating literary talent, and closes with a musical interlude to round out the night.

The readings will be in Spanish with live English translation. Please bring your phone and earbuds — you’ll need them to listen. You’ll be asked to scan a QR code to join the Zoom audio for the translation.

Smokey Joe's is a pop-up cafe that is part of Spark. Spark is an inclusive, interactive, energizing and participatory-three day event (Nov. 11-13, 11am–9:30pm at La Casona) blurring the lines between gallery, play room, and art fair. It’s designed to be a living space for artistic and creative personal experimentation incorporating painting, drawing, photography, poetry, makers tables (you get to take your creations home), installations, live music, film, spoken word events, and more.
