Description de l'événement
JULES DASSIN: A CLASSIC OF FILM NOIR
RIFIFI (Du Rififi Chez Les Hommes)
SUN OCT 26th | 2:00PM & 4:05PM | 1H 58MIN | CRIME | FRANCE (Average duration 118 min in some restorations)
DIR: JULES DASSIN CAST: JEAN SERVAIS, CARL MÖHNER, ROBERT MANUEL
Winner of the Best Director award at the 1955 Cannes Film Festival.
After five years in prison, the aging gangster Tony "le Stéphanois" returns to Paris. Together with his friend Jo and two other accomplices, he plans what must be the perfect robbery: rob a luxurious jewelry store.
This film noir masterpiece not only raised the bar for the heist genre, but includes the most famous and tense heist sequence in history: 30 minutes of action shot in near-total silence! It is the calm before the inevitable storm of betrayal, violence and doom that only the human element can unleash.
A film that laid the foundation for all the heists that came after.
Don't miss this restored classic!
