🗓 Friday, January 30 & Sunday, February 1, 2026 – 5 PM
📍 St. Paul’s Church, San Miguel de Allende

Pro Musica is thrilled to present the debut of rising cello star Luka Coetzee, whose performances have captivated audiences across North America and Europe with their lyrical warmth and breathtaking emotional range. A musician of rare sensitivity and poise, Coetzee brings a fresh voice to the great cello tradition, blending youthful energy with profound musical insight.

A laureate of multiple international competitions and a frequent soloist with orchestras in Canada and abroad, Coetzee has been praised for her “glowing tone and fearless expression.” She currently studies with the legendary Laurence Lesser and has performed at prestigious venues such as the Banff Centre, Tanglewood, and Carnegie Hall.

Her San Miguel recital will feature an exquisite program celebrating the cello’s full expressive spectrum — from the soulful elegance of Bach and Schumann to the passionate intensity of Shostakovich and Piazzolla. Whether spinning a line of quiet melancholy or unleashing a burst of fiery virtuosity, Coetzee’s artistry promises a performance that will linger long after the final note fades.
