Description de l'événement
PLÁTICA + DEMO con IRINA YUSHMANOVA 💧🎨
TITLE: Watercolor “Alla Prima” and in PLEN AIR: painting the moment
What is it about?
Without plein air, impressionism wouldn’t exist. Period. Going out to paint in the open air changed the history of art and still remains the heart of watercolor today.
Irina Yushmanova will show you how it’s done. What’s that thing called “alla prima,” why painting outdoors makes your head spin, and how you get the water, the pigment, and the light to agree before everything dries up.
The plan:
1️⃣ 45 min of no-nonsense talk – César Gordillo chats with Irina. From her path as an artist and teacher to the tricks she uses when she paints in the street. Everything revolves around plein air.
2️⃣ 90 min of live demo – Irina paints an “alla prima” watercolor right in front of you. You’ll see how she solves problems, how she waters it down, how she corrects it, and how magic happens.
3️⃣ Q&A – Ask whatever you want. Technique, materials, fears, blocks. There are no silly questions here.
📍 Where: Instituto Allende
📅 When: Saturday, August 8, 2026 from 13:00 to 15:00 h
🎟️ Cost: Free. Zero pesos.
⚠️ Save the date and arrive early.
Who is it for?
If you study art, if you paint as a hobby, if you’re a pro, if you do urban sketching, or if you’re just curious to see how someone paints with water before the wind takes it. Everyone is welcome.
Come see how to capture the light with water ✏️💦

Semblanza Irina Yushmanova
Irina is a visual artist originally from Russia and based in Mexico City (naturalized in Mexico) since 2014. She graduated from the Moscow Academy of Fine Arts and from the Moscow Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, where she trained within the Russian academic tradition, recognized as one of the most solid schools of pictorial realism in the world.
She works with watercolor, oil, drawing, pastel, acrylic, and mixed-media techniques, combining realistic precision with an impressionistic sensibility. Her work maintains a rigorous academic foundation along with a dynamic, contemporary perspective.
She has participated in and earned recognition in multiple national and international exhibitions and contests, with many solo and group shows. She is the founder and director of Endorphine Art School, where she teaches in-person and online academic workshops and courses, and also organizes live model sessions and outdoor painting activities (Pleinair).
She represents the International Watercolor Society (IWS) Globe Art Network under the name IWS Irina [Endorphine.Art](http://Endorphine.Art) and leads one of 2 Mexican groups for the international festival FabrianoInAcquerello in Italy.
**Semblanza César Gordillo**
**Mexican Architect and Watercolorist**
His work stands out for a deep interest in light and atmosphere. These elements transform every landscape into a sensory experience, beyond literal representation.
His approach to watercolor combines loose Alla Prima brushwork with precise control of transparencies, inspired by both impressionist tradition and the chromatic richness of urban and natural landscapes.
Throughout his career, he has participated in collective and solo exhibitions at national and international levels. His work is part of the Permanent Collection of the Alfredo Guati Rojo Watercolor Museum, the Watercolor Museum of the State of Mexico, and the Walter Anderson Museum in Ocean Springs, Mississippi.
He has been recognized twice with the Tlacuilo Trophy, awarded by the Mexican Society of Watercolorists and the National Watercolor Museum. In addition, his work has been published in the international magazine The Art of Watercolor.
