Description de l'événement
Parlez-vous Cinéma? French cinema cycle in the library!
Indes Galantes (The Gallant Indians) | Dir. Philippe Béziat | 2021 in French with Spanish subtitles | 108 min | Documentary, music
brings together 30 hip-hop dancers, krump, break, voguing and other urban dance styles. It is a first time for the director Clément Cogitore, for the choreographer Bintou Dembélé and also for the Opera of the Bastille in Paris.
By merging urban dance with operatic singing, they reinvent the masterpiece of the Baroque Les Indes Galantes, by Jean-Philippe Rameau. From rehearsals to functions before the public, we follow a human adventure and an encounter with various political realities.
The question that guides this project is: Can a new generation of artists take the Bastille today?
