Classical Night

On Monday, September 22, at 6:00pm, Johnny’s Piano Bar presents Classical Night, featuring three outstanding opera singers.

Tenor Daniel Hendrick has been lauded by the New York Times (“impressive”), the Baltimore Sun (“a rich, lyrical voice”), and by music critics at other major news outlets for his “powerful” and “soaring” vocal performances. Hendrick has sung leading roles with the San Francisco Opera, Bonn Opera, Detroit Symphony, Baltimore Opera, Vancouver Opera, New Orleans Opera, and most recently the Istanbul Symphony, in four concerts broadcast nationally on Turkish television. He was also seen on PBS as a soloist in Handel’s Messiah, alongside Metropolitan Opera bass James Morris.

Mezzo soprano Liliana Medrano, originally from Guanajuato, has been a soloist at Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City, has performed with Placido Domingo, Miguel Bosé and Los Ángeles Azules, and has worked with composer Ennio Morricone. Soprano Gabriela Perales is a San Miguel favorite, a performer who has headlined charity events for various nonprofits over the last ten years.

They will be accompanied by the trio of Ifigenia Lejarza on piano, Miguel Eugenio Hernández on bass, and Michael Severens on cello.

The cover charge of $600 pesos includes a champagne reception.

Since its grand reopening in September 2024, Johnny’s Piano Bar has become one of the choicest nightspots in San Miguel, a fun hangout known for top-notch live cabaret music, chic décor, and a varied MENU of hors d’oeuvres, snacks, and an assortment of beverages. Johnny’s Piano Bar is located inside Hotel Casa Linda, at Mesones #101, in Centro, across the street from the main entrance to the Teatro Angela Peralta.
