Description de l'événement

About Women Series at Teatro Santa Ana in La Biblioteca every October Wednesday.

Death and the Maiden | Dur. 103 mins.
In English

Based on Ariel Dorfman’s acclaimed stage play, is a tense psychological drama that delves into the wounds of political repression and the search for justice.

Set in an unnamed South American country emerging from dictatorship, the film follows Paulina (Sigourney Weaver), a former political prisoner who is convinced she has come face-to-face with her past torturer when a stranger (Ben Kingsley) unexpectedly enters her home.

As her husband (Stuart Wilson) becomes entangled in the moral dilemma, questions of truth, memory, and retribution emerge.

Polanski crafts an intimate yet gripping chamber piece that resonates as both political allegory and searing human drama.
