Event Description
Experience this concert featuring indigenous languages and world instruments.
HÍBRIDA is a musical experience that connects voice, instruments, languages, and ancestral rhythms on a journey through the sonic memory of different cultures around the world.
Created and performed by Yaya Fuentes, a singer and artist born in southern Chile, the work stems from in-depth research and a compilation of sounds, instruments, songs, and knowledge linked to ancestral medicine, herbs, and indigenous traditions.
Through a contemporary musical language, HÍBRIDA explores Mapuche, Kiliwa, Indian, Quechua, and Vedic roots, constructing a theatrical space where cultures meet, engage in dialogue, and transform.
One voice. Multiple roots. A single sonic landscape.
HÍBRIDA invites us to listen to the world through its most ancient memories.
Yaya Fuentes Project
A Chilean artist born in the city of Concepción, she has created a fascinating universe through her solo and collaborative work, drawing on 20 years of traveling the world. She plays the Hang—a Swiss instrument created in 2000—and various unconventional instruments such as the Gopichand (India) and mouth harps (Mapuche, Vietnamese) in a unique style.
Her body of work is extensive and serves as a platform for social and humanitarian advocacy regarding the needs of Mapuche communities, indigenous peoples worldwide, at-risk children, spirituality in the broadest sense of the word (not religion), and humanitarian education.
