Event Description
A leftist resistance fighter turned journalist tries to hold onto his ideals as postwar Italy drifts toward the economic boom, while his marriage strains under the compromises the era demands. Risi moves across nearly two decades of Italian history with a mix of sharp comedy and bitter disappointment, and Sordi called it the best role of his career. David di Donatello Award for Best Production; restored in 4K and praised by The New York Times as "a stellar specimen of commedia all'italiana."
