There will be two presentations of this year’s festival, on Wednesday, March 11, and Saturday, March 14, both at 7:00pm. The location is La Troje indoor theater at the Foro El Obraje, located at Calzada de la Presa #50, in Centro, near the Live Aqua hotel. There is a parking lot around the corner from the venue.
Tickets are $500 MX, and can be purchased at the door, or from the Foro El Obraje office (phone/Whatsapp: 446 259 4821).
The performers this year include musicians from Cuba, Argentina, Colombia, Ukraine, and the United States, along with superb Mexican artists, such as local favorites Caleb and Jair Cabrera of Media Luna.
Lovers of the guitar will have the opportunity to hear artists such as Havana-born Josué Tacoronte, a specialist in classical and flamenco music, known for his work with the Ballet Español de Cuba; Ukrainian-born guitarist and composer Arina Burceva, whose compositions combine elements of classical, contemporary and world music; Edwin Vichot Blanco, Cuban lutenist, hailed by the Spanish newspaper El Ideal as the “Jimi Hendrix of the lute”; and David Bedoya, of Bogotá, Colombia, a master of the Colombian-Venezuelan cuatro, with over twenty albums to his credit; among others.
The world-class quality and variety of talent at this festival are not to be missed. Save the dates, or reach out to the El Foro Obraje office for advance tickets.
