Event Description

🎥Monster | 2023 | Hirokazu Kore-eda
In Japanese with English subtitles | 126 min.

Monster is a quietly devastating drama that unfolds through shifting perspectives, revealing how truth fractures depending on who is looking.

When a mother begins to suspect that something is wrong with her young son after troubling changes in his behavior, her concerns lead her into conflict with his school and teacher.

What initially appears to be a straightforward case gradually becomes something far more complex. Kore-eda constructs the film as a moral prism, examining childhood vulnerability, institutional blindness, and the ease with which society assigns blame.
