Event Description
Attend Don Barry: A Quixotic Exploration San Miguel Premiere, a film shot entirely in Guanajuato.
Don Barry: A Quixotic Exploration
2024 | Dur. 95 min
Written, Directed and Produced by Paul Smart
In English with Spanish subtitles
A real-life experimental filmmaker in his 80s, Barry Gerson, becomes the real life Quijote, the Cervante's character.
A film with explorations of intuitive processes, cathartic landscapes, and the specters of death and creative succession.
A young assistant, Genda Moter (Sanchia, stand-in for Cervantes' Sancho Panza) helps revive Don Barry’s creative drive and push him to expand his cinematic explorations of light into new realms beyond narrative.
Following the screening, there will be a Q&A with the director, actors and musicians.
