In 1983, he continued his training under the esteemed maestro Luis Bayard at the Higher Institute of Arts in Havana. In 1986 he traveled to Mexico as a resident, dedicating himself entirely to the study of contemporary music, Jazz and Latin Jazz. During these years he worked under the tutelage of the great master and pianist Miguel Salas. During this stage he has participated in groups such as: Banco del Ruido, Viva Fidel, “V Grado”, with pianist Joao Enrique, as well as with a number of national and international artists.
After years of work he recorded his album “Charanguero” with musicians such as Osmany Paredes (piano), Braulio Stalin (bass), Miguel Valdes (percussion), Jaco Gonzalez (sax) among others. It features seven original compositions by Ricardo Benitez as well as songs by C. Parker and Miguel Valdes.
