**PLEIN AIR WORKSHOP with IRINA YUSHMANOVA 💧🌆** 

**URBAN WATERCOLOR: Painting the city while it breathes**

Who is Irina? 

Irina Yushmanova paints as if the water has a mind of its own. For her, watercolor is rebellious and tender at the same time: you propose, the water decides, and when they align… pure magic. 

 

She loves the city and the people. Streets with wild angles, light bouncing off windows, reflections, movement, speed. No copying photos: Irina looks for atmosphere, energy, that feeling of being there. When she paints, the clock stops and only wonder remains.

 

Why plein air?

Because the city doesn’t wait. Light changes, people move, the moment slips away. Painting outdoors gives you what no photo can: real light, real air, real life. Freshness, spontaneity, and a touch of chaos that makes your watercolor vibrate.

 

In this workshop, you’ll learn how to build an urban scene that looks luminous, dynamic, and pro. No fear of water.

 

You’ll leave knowing how to:

1️⃣ Capture a scene in minutes – Keep what matters before it disappears.

2️⃣ Paint in the street from start to finish – From the framing and perspective to the final watercolor brushstroke.

3️⃣ Make a pro-level city watercolor – Light, reflections, texture, intentional washes and spots. Make it feel alive.

🕙 Time: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM | Show up at 9:30 to get a good spot

📍 Where: Fábrica La Aurora 

⏱️ Duration: 5 hours of water, light, and city

**PARTICIPATING MATERIALS LIST**

 

1. Watercolor paper ¼ of a sheet (28 x 38 cm) or smaller (in a pad or loose) that you normally use.

2. 6B pencil and eraser.

3. Atomizer

4. Salt

5. Watercolors of at least 24 colors

6. Natural and synthetic brushes

7. Masking tape.

8. Paper support.

9. Water container.

**Profile: Irina Yushmanova**

Irina is a visual artist originally from Russia and based in Mexico City (naturalized in Mexico) since 2014. She graduated from the Moscow Academy of Fine Arts and the Moscow Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, where she trained within the Russian academic tradition—recognized as one of the strongest schools of pictorial realism worldwide.

She works with watercolor, oil, drawing, pastel, acrylic, and mixed media techniques, combining realistic precision with an impressionist sensibility. Her work keeps a rigorous academic foundation along with a dynamic, contemporary perspective.

She has participated in and received recognition in multiple national and international exhibitions and competitions, and has held many solo and group exhibitions. She is the founder and director of Endorphine Art School, where she teaches in-person and online academic workshops and courses, and also organizes live model sessions and outdoor painting activities (Pleinair).

She represents the International Watercolor Society (IWS) Globe Art Network under the name IWS Irina [Endorphine.Art](http://Endorphine.Art) and leads one of 2 Mexican groups of the international festival FabrianoInAcquerello in Italy.
