Event Description
The San Miguel de Allende World Music Festival in each of its editions tries to bring the interested workshops to the workshops taught by the musicians attending the festival.
On this occasion, we invite you to immerse yourself in an extraordinary adventure from the oldest instruments of humanity: percussion. You will explore the function of percussion within different cultures and get to know about many of the instruments as well as their rhythmic patterns.
We will execute examples of ensembles such as: Samba from Brazil, Afro-Cuban rhythms such as Bembe, Flamingo bulería rhythms and rumbas, pre-Hispanic rhythms and folkloric rhythms from Mexico.
