๐ฅThe Heiress | Dir. William Wyler
๐In English | 115 min
Set in nineteenth-century New York, the film follows Catherine Sloper, a shy and emotionally vulnerable young woman dominated by her cold and demanding father.
Catherineโs life changes when she falls in love with Morris Townsend, a charming suitor whose intentions are questioned by her father, who suspects him of pursuing her inheritance rather than her affection.
Torn between desire for love and fear of betrayal, Catherine undergoes a gradual and painful transformation.
