Event Description
Selected films at Teatro Santa Ana, La Biblioteca, every Wednesday in September
My Old Ass | Dir. Megan Park
Canada | Comedy, Drama, Coming-of-Age
In English | 89 min
My Old Ass is a witty and heartfelt coming-of-age film, about an adventurous teenager whose carefree summer takes an unexpected turn after a psychedelic experience brings her face-to-face with her 39-year-old self.
What begins as a humorous encounter soon evolves into a moving exploration of identity, love, and the difficult choices that shape our lives.
Blending sharp comedy with genuine emotional depth, the film examines the tension between youthful optimism and the wisdom that comes with experience.
Maisy Stella and Aubrey Plaza create a compelling dynamic, portraying the same character at different stages of life with warmth, humor, and surprising vulnerability. Megan Park skillfully balances fantasy and realism, crafting a story that is both entertaining and deeply relatable.
Following the screening, there will be a discussion with Amy Cotler.
