Event Description

Gods of México | 2022 | México

Dir. Helmut Dosantos

In Spanish with English subtitles

A mesmerizing journey across rural Mexico, Gods of Mexico is a visual symphony that pays tribute to Indigenous and Afro-Mexican communities.

Helmut Dosantos crafts an immersive and poetic portrait of hidden worlds—miners, farmers, and traditional workers—who preserve ancestral ways of life amid the encroachment of modernity.

Shot in striking black-and-white and color, the film combines ethnography with dreamlike imagery, weaving together silence, music, and gesture to evoke

both myth and everyday life.
