Event Description
Selected films at Teatro Santa Ana in La Biblioteca every November Wednesday.
🎬Canoa: A Shameful Memory | 1976 | México
📌In Spanish with English subtitles
Based on true events, the film reconstructs the story of five university employees who, while hiking near the town of San Miguel Canoa, are mistaken for communist agitators by the local priest and incited townspeople.
Cazals blends documentary-style realism with narrative intensity, creating one of the most powerful and politically charged films in Mexican cinema.
