Event Description
Join the celebration at the African Heritage Library at the Third Black Mexico Festival, our third root.
The story follows Tomoani, a boy with dark skin and curly hair who, after suffering violence and rejection in his environment, embarks on a symbolic journey towards Mictlán accompanied by Pinto, his inseparable dog companion.
In that transit between life and death, play and pain, Doña Flaca appears, an ancestral figure who confronts the protagonist with her fears, her identity and her dignity.
Attend this play of objects and puppets for the entire “tilic and skinny” family, where Afro-descendant memory, the Mexican worldview and experiences of daily violence in territories crossed by structural racism and exclusion are intertwined.
Mulato Teatro (Mexico City) Founded in 2003, they have the mission of promoting shows that make it possible to make visible, recognize and value the past and present of the cultural and ethnic mixes of Mexico.
