Event Description
A story of faith, value and purpose. Based on the book of Esther.
During the exile of the Jewish people in Persia, King Ahasuerus seeks a new wife and queen, after dismissing Queen Vashti. Hadasa is a Jewish woman who will be chosen as Queen of Persia by King Ahasuerus; She, to hide her origin, takes the name of Ester.
Uncle Mordecai, who is also a Jew and lives in exile in Persia, will be honored by the king and will cause the disgust of Haman, a prince of high-ranking in the Empire. Haman plans the extermination of the Jews and it will be then that Queen Esther intercedes before the king to save her people.
This staging has elements of comic farce as a theatrical contrast to highlight the main values of the biblical story, so the jocular Mexican style will be giving the representation a touch of humor: “Ester a la Mexicana”
