Event Description
Experience one of San Miguel de Allende’s most colorful and anticipated traditions: the Convite de Locos, a celebration full of music, dance, masks, costumes, and popular joy in honor of Saint Anthony of Padua.
The figure of the “loco” comes from the dance of the market gardeners, connected to the festivities of Saint Isidore the Farmer and Saint Paschal Baylón. Over time, the costumes evolved into the colorful characters that now parade through the streets handing out candy and filling the city with celebration.
