Convergencias: 75 Years of Artistic Legacy at Instituto Allende

As part of the FASMA 2026 program, the exhibition Convergencias celebrates the reopening of the historic Galería Pérgola of the Instituto Allende, one of the most emblematic spaces for the training and dissemination of the visual arts in Mexico.
The show brings together works by twenty artists connected with this institution and establishes a dialogue between different generations: from members of the founding faculty to creators trained in the Bachelor’s Degree in Visual Arts at the Universidad de Guanajuato.
Painting, ceramics, drawing, sculpture, and contemporary material explorations come together in a journey through 75 years of teaching, creation, and artistic research. Each work represents a meeting point between past and present, showing how knowledge, experimentation, and creativity continue to evolve and be passed on to new generations.
More than a retrospective, Convergencias is a tribute to the educational legacy of the Instituto Allende and to its fundamental role in the cultural development of San Miguel de Allende and of the visual arts in Mexico.
