Event Description
Film screening program from the XIV Encuentro Hispanoamericano de Cine y Video Documental Independiente. On Saturday, September 12, the program includes 'Comparsa' at 11:00 am, a documentary about sisters Lesli and Lupe in Ciudad Peronia, Guatemala, who lead a community arts movement to denounce violence against women and reclaim public spaces through giant puppets, stilts, music, and street theater; and 'Hoy no tengo nada que decirte ya que todo está en calma' at 11:05 am, a film in which a great-niece reconstructs the life story of 72-year-old Gloria, who lives with dementia in a nursing home in 2025, discovering an unknown side of her through a diary. Presented as part of Contra el Silencio Todas las Voces at Centro Cultural Comunitario El Sindicato in San Miguel de Allende.
