Event Description
Cine Club en Biller invites you to enjoy the cinema at the Santa Ana
Cobre Theater. A film by Nicolás Pereda Mexico | 2026 | 79 min. | classification B | In Spanish
on the way to work in a remote mining town, Lázaro finds a corpse and becomes the target of the suspicions of his community and even his own family.
As a respiratory illness forces him to be absent from the mine, doubts about his true state of health grow, and rumors are fueled about his possible involvement in the crime.
Lázaro finds comfort in his aunt, just a few years older than him, with whom he develops an increasingly ambiguous relationship.
The usual elements of Nicolás Pereda's cinema —a minimalist grammar, a fixed group of actors and an interest in the mechanisms of fiction—reconfigure itself in this simple, but suspenseful, family drama that criticizes with scathing humor the way of representing violence in Mexico.
