Book presentation, graphic novel: The Nagual, The Legend of the Mexican Werewolf
Thursday August 6 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Event Description
Attend the presentation of this historical fiction graphic novel with the presence of the author Alex Hermogenes.
“El Nagual, the legend of the Mexican werewolf” is a fantasy trilogy about the epic journey of the Aztec resistance against the Spanish invasion. It tells the story of its leader, a mythological being conceived by the Toltec cosmogony.
Based on extensive historical research, the Nagual, in its first volume, connects two widely documented real facts about two martyrs of history: Carlos Ometochtzin, a Mexica prince, and Fray Luis Jaime, a Spanish missionary from Alta California.
He recounts the saga of a legendary character, who, on his journey of revenge, will not stop until he pays the murderers of his beloved Princess Citlali. Brutal crimes committed in the name of God, by the Holy Inquisition and its high hierarchs.
Alex Hermogenes (Mexico City) has been teaching writing and history at San Diego California Community College since 2014. He is a filmmaker and freelance writer.
