Event Description
Experience the Cervantino International Festival from the Teatro Santa Ana in Biblioteca Pública.
Enjoy the broadcast of the play “Sea of Silence (Mar de Silencio)” by Tamara Cubas
Dur. 75 min
Migration has shaped humanity since its origins, and no society has remained untouched by it. Drawing on years of international research, Tamara Cubas gives voice to the migratory journeys of women from different continents.
On a stage covered in salt, personal stories unfold through songs, dances, rituals, and texts. Seven women gathered on the periphery traverse the world to invoke a collective spell. A community that spans languages, rites, songs, and dances offers the audience a reflection necessary to awaken and broaden horizons.
Driven by a deep desire to immerse herself in the journeys of migrant women who traverse deserts and seas in search of transforming their lives, the Uruguayan artist honors their resilience, their will to survive, and their defiance in the face of patriarchal oppression.
