Asención El viaje de Zazil

This year, Asencion de Zazil will create a truly unique experience in San Miguel de Allende!

Thousands of people will pass through Foro del Obraje during Día de Muertos... the altar, a monumental piece, visible to everyone who visits.

The project will be promoted by the SMA Tourism Office, Live Aqua Hotel, the Festival de la Calaca network, and, Crazy Horse Promotions, in addition to coverage in local and international press and media.

Sponsorship packages are now available.

The performance Ascension is the second installment of the saga The Voyage of Zazil, whose first chapter premiered at Casa Europa in 2023 to a full house and critical acclaim. This new chapter explores the human journey through a multimedia show featuring circus, live music, and projections, that will bring hundreds of attendees per performance.

There will be a high-level exhibition from artist, Leonora Carrington and Got Scultures by Leonora.

Asencion de Zazil builds on a 13 year legacy of the Digital Altar tradition, established as a cultural reference for Día de Muertos in San Miguel, now expanded and elevated at the Centro Cultural El Obraje.
