Event Description

«A cinematic revelation—Herzog transforms a true mystery into a powerful journey of humanity, wonder, and the raw beauty of an untamed soul.»

Werner Herzog’s The Enigma of Kaspar Hauser tells the haunting true story of a mysterious young man who appears in 19th-century Nuremberg after having been raised in total isolation.

With no knowledge of the outside world, Kaspar Hauser struggles to integrate into society, confronting both its wonders and cruelties.

Herzog crafts a hypnotic and poetic meditation on civilization, human nature, and the limits of knowledge.

Anchored by the mesmerizing performance of Bruno S., The Enigma of Kaspar Hauser is a deeply affecting exploration of innocence, alienation, and the search for identity.

Following the film, there will be a discussion with Amy Cotler.
