Satyajit Ray’s The Music Room is a haunting portrait of a fading aristocrat clinging to the last remnants of his former glory.
Biswambhar Roy (Chhabi Biswas), a once-powerful zamindar, lives isolated in his deteriorating mansion, spending his dwindling wealth on elaborate musical soirées in his beloved jalsaghar—the music room.
As modernity encroaches and his social stature collapses, Roy retreats deeper into nostalgia, ritual, and self-destruction.
