Pamela (cuatro venezolano, a small guitar of Venezuela) and Jack Z (nine-string harp guitar) pool their talents and repertories in a presentation of instrumental arrangements of popular Mexican songs. A gringo and a Venezuelan playing Mexican music together with a combination of unusual instruments: this can only happen in San Miguel de Allende.
This is a new project in 2024, and this is a showcase for our friends at the Pulqueria La Otomi in Colonia San Rafa, the real cultural center of SMA (we also have regular weekly gigs, see the listings). Our program tonight features arrangements of classic Mexican songs old and new, from Solamente Una Vez a Fría Como El Viento, and a few gringo favorites such as our rendition of Here Comes the Sun.
