Biography:We are a new comedy troupe in SMA. Our company of four includes Antonia Banewicz, Glen Eaton, Christie Cook, and Kaya Stattmann. We’ve been professional actors and writers individually throughout our lives in Australia, NYC and LA. We formed our troupe in SMA this past year and we do comedy sketches.
Christie Cook is a comedy writer and sketch performer from Sydney, Australia with a keen desire to satirize institutional stuffiness and humankind’s obsession with itself, in, of course, the nicest way possible. Her comedic stylings have been accurately described as ‘edgy but sweet.’ Christie’s B.A was in Performance Studies and History at Sydney University followed by an M.A in Media. Additionally, she studied with Improv Australia, NIDA and The Second City. Outside of writing and directing for The Once Upon a Time in Mexico Players, Her other interests include drinking mojitos, mocking reality television and speaking Spanish, which she does poorly.
Kaya Stattmann is a budding fiction novelist and world traveler. Outside of The Once Upon a Time in Mexico Players, her time is spent whiling away the time contemplating life’s many mysteries.
Antonia Banewicz is a seasoned performer with a diverse range of experience spanning from classical theater and drama to comedic acts. Over the course of her 15-year career in New York City, she showcased her talent in off-off Broadway theater, regional theater, as well as in soaps and commercials. Antonia honed her acting skills at SMU and obtained her BFA in theater. Presently residing in San Miguel, Antonia is a Happiness Coach and owner of Brighter Better Days. When not occupied with her passion for spreading joy and positivity, she enjoys spending time with her husband and being a loving fur mom to their two adorable pooches.
Glen Eaton is an actor and writer with achievements in the entertainment industry. He is recognized for his work as both a writer and lead actor in the action film, “Trained To Kill.” Furthermore, he showcased his acting abilities by playing the role of the sidekick to the lead in the iconic cult classic “The Last Dragon.” In addition to his career on the big screen, Glen has also demonstrated his creativity by acting in a series of short films.
