Biography:

Said Nómada is an independent artist originally from San Miguel de Allende with great influences of ancient and modern music, with a wide variety of genres such as: Trova, bolero, Cuban son, salsa, soul, ballad, rock in Spanish and English. Said has been singing since he was 3 years old, from a renowned family, his great-grandfather, Francisco Chico Andrade ("The romantic sonero of the song"), who sang alongside great singers such as Los Riviere, Pepe Ruiz and his orchestra, Benny More, among others. His father, renowned percussionist and singer, Julián Mendieta, who is also part of the salsa group “La Revelación” has played with many stars of Cuban and Afro-Caribbean music such as Orlando Valle Maraca, Alain Pérez, Giovani Hidalgo, among others.

With a career spanning 22 years, Said Mendieta has positioned himself as one of the most versatile singers in San Miguel de Allende, as well as having won an extensive number of contests, such as “Inter Model” at just 7 years old. of age, came in the first 3 places in a Republic-wide contest with more than 1,400 participants, the most recent to mention a few winning "La Voz de San Miguel" in 2022.

Said, in addition to being a singer, has been playing guitar since he was 11 years old, which led him to form his rock band in 2014 called “Snb” (Said Nómada Band), which became very successful, participating in two Occasionally in renowned competitions in the city, they opened for great artists on their way through San Miguel de Allende, such as: Molotov, Juan Solo, Jenny and the Mexicats. In the year 2019, the Band came to an end and each of the members decided to follow their own paths. Said continued performing in many places here in the city and its surroundings but now with his “soloist” project where he plays trova , ballad and bolero, with great influences such as Silvio Rodríguez, Pablo Milanés, Juan Pablo Vega, Pedro Guerra, to name a few.

It was not until 2021, when Said was invited to be part of the group “Son Candela” led by his father Julián Mendieta and in which he performed playing minor percussion (maracas, gajate and claves) and making choirs, he began to experiment with the genre of Cuban son and salsa, this was until in 2022 his father had to go on tour through Veracruz and Puerto Vallarta, which led Said to form his own Cuban salsa and son group to which named “The Revelation”, taking as its main stage, Baradero, a renowned bar in San Miguel de Allende with a Cuban cantina theme from the 50s, where it has performed to this day playing every Friday and Saturday from 10:00 pm. They have played at various festivals, in the city of Dolores Hidalgo for the 3rd consecutive time in: “National Snow Fair” 2021/2022/2023, “Festival Sabores San Miguel de Allende” 2024 and “SMAFF Festival 2022” to mention a few.
