The Jupiter are an intimate group, with violinists Nelson Lee and Meg Freivogel McDonough, violist Liz Freivogel (older sister of Meg), and cellist Daniel McDonough (husband of Meg, brother-in-law of Liz)! They have a musical voice of unmatched cohesion and they have won many honors, including first prize in the Banff International Quartet Competition, and play at major venues including Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center. Friday's program includes quartets by Mozart, Mendelssohn and Shostakovich, and on Sunday works by Haydn, Tchaikovsky, William Bolcom and Florence Price.
