“Some were born slaves, others witches; others were abused by monsters, and others condemned by their memories”
Woman Born a Witch is made up of eight stories full of reality, some magical, others full of pain and blood. Narrated through different protagonists whose purpose was to go beyond what the world allowed them.
Each character in her time and in her own way, made a difference by breaking the molds of her everyday life. This book, with uncomfortable, libertine, liberal, and crazy stories, will excite you on every page, showing that there have always been women who decided to be born and live as witches.
Dennise Martínez presents her first work. This book became a cathartic exercise and through fiction she finally recognized herself as a woman born a witch. She was born on October 31, an emblematic date that gives rise to the title of her book.
She has been a student at the Public Library and has taken classes with writers Ana Mateos, Carmen Rioja, Kyra Galván, Guadalupe Cortés, Alejandra Camposeco and Eduardo Antonio Parra. She was awarded a scholarship to participate in the 2024 San Miguel de Allende International Writers Festival and is currently taking a diploma in reading mediation for the national reading room program of the Economic Culture Fund.
