Enjoy the video recording of the chamber music concert celebrating the seasons of the year, showcasing the remarkable flexibility and refined singing of the Vocalconsort Berlin ensemble.
This experienced group performs music spanning five centuries, embracing a wide array of styles and singing in six languages.
The a cappella repertoire ranges from Schütz to Chávez and features vocal quartets, trios, and duets, some accompanied by piano, along with one or two piano solos. Each piece reflects the spirit of the seasons—capturing the excitement of spring, the languor of summer, the introspection of autumn, and the chill of winter.
Along pianist Philip Mayers, Vocalconsort Berlin have devised a program anchored in the rich German Romantic choral tradition of Mendelssohn, Schumann and Brahms, and also including lesser-known works by composers such as Mathilde Kralik, Malcolm Arnold, Amy Beach and Gustav Jenner.
