Los Sandy’s
Escaping poverty in Mexico, Julia always wanted to have her own land and lead a quiet life there with her family. But fate had different plans for Julia. Shortly after the birth of her seventh child, her husband Enrique died of an aneurysm, leaving Julia as the main provider, working in the scorching fields of California. In addition to this great loss, low wages and the constant fear of deportation, Julia and her children must leave their family home where they lived for 18 years after their landlord decided to put the property up for sale.
But, at the heart of this home, are Los Sandy's, a Mexican folk band founded by her five oldest children and funded by her late husband. Performing songs from their rich heritage and carrying on their father's musical vision after his death, the sons devotedly help their mother support the family with what they earn. Yet, lacking rights and resources, they must face the harsh realities of life, leave their memories behind and start anew.
